Every year, the National Network for Youth hosts the annual National Summit on Youth Homelessness + Hill Day in Washington D.C. Our 2026 Summit will be hosted on March 12-13, 2026, bringing together service providers, youth advocates, homeless liaisons, policymakers, and other passionate individuals. Together, we will advance solutions that ensure all young people have a safe place to call home.

Why do we center youth and young parent families experiencing homelessness?

Youth homelessness is widespread, but often invisible. Every night, 4.2 million youth, young adults, and young parent families, disproportionately youth of color and LGBTQIA2S+ youth, experience homelessness in many forms: couch surfing, living in cars, staying in unsafe situations, or sleeping outdoors. Yet they are frequently left out of national homelessness conversations, overlooked by systems, and denied access to services simply because they don’t fit narrow definitions or political priorities.

At NN4Y, we believe youth homelessness is not a lesser or softer form of homelessness. These young people deserve full access to shelter, services, housing options, and the chance to thrive. This Summit ensures that youth experiences and voices are heard in every conversation about the policies, funding, and solutions that affect their lives.

Equally important, we center the knowledge and leadership of service providers on the frontlines—those working every day in communities across the country—who bring invaluable insight into the systemic challenges and practical solutions needed to support youth experiencing homelessness. Their on-the-ground expertise helps ensure that national strategies are rooted in reality and capable of driving real change.
